We got Buddy a few years ago from a rescue organization as a mate for our female cockatiel who recently passed away. Unfortunately he is not happy alone since she died and we are not in a position to get more birds at this time. He seems to love other cockatiels but is stressed out by our young kids running through the house and the wild neighborhood birds when he can hear them outside our home. He has many cheerful whistles and songs and says “I love you” (but can get loud when anxious). He is not hand tame but is curious about people and I’m sure he could be hand tamed with some TLC by a person who knows cockatiels well. He was apparently attacked by some animal before he was rescued and came to us, so his wing feathers don’t grow quite right on one side and he can’t fly far, and he has a little bald spot on the back of his head. I know he could be a great companion for someone who has the time to work with him, especially if there are other cockatiels in the house. He deserves happiness! Unsure if he is neutered.
