Lovely Lux is a 7-year old female McNab mix, around 50 lbs. of very, very good girl. Lux came into our lives when we fostered a litter of newborn pups during the devastating 2017 Sonoma County fire season. Lux and her sister Penelope (Pip) were the two darlings that we adopted from the litter we sheltered. Sadly, Lux and her sister Pip are no longer simpatico and so Lux is seeking a new place to call home.

She recently visited the vet and is in perfect health, spayed, and up-to-date on all vaccinations including all the regular stuff plus canine influenza, leptospirosis and bordetella (kennel cough). Lux takes a monthly flea/tick/heartworm medication. She is an established patient at Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital AND at Sebastopol Animal Hospital. She is registered and licensed in Sonoma County.

Lux will be most happy in a home where she is the only dog, no cats, and there are no small children (no aggression issue here, little kids just move unpredictably and make her a wee bit nervous, so she generally just leaves the room/avoids them. Older/bigger kids are less concerning to her). Lux is friendly to humans and other dogs, although it may take her a little while longer to warm up, as her breed is naturally a little cautious and shy. She is generally a very quiet gal but will bark if strangers approach the door (she recently deterred an intruder from coming in to her foster’s home!).

Lux’s best day would probably start with some exercise and end with an epic cuddle, with lots of pets and scratches in between. She loves to be outside, but equally loves a yummy mellow snooze session! She LOVES to gaze into your eyes. She is super smart and easy to train, great walker on leash, and would be a great hiking/jogging/running companion while also a couch potato when you want to Netflix & chill.

Lux does have a prey drive and if you need a pup to keep rodents out of your yard, she’s your gal. She loves PackWalks and has been going twice a week for a four-mile walk with lots of canine pals. Lux has completed an intense training series and is very good at ‘going to target’ and other commands.

Lux is:
Very gentle.
Quietly calm.
Super smart.
Extremely loving.
Supremely cuddly.
Sportingly athletic.
Obligingly obedient.
House-trained.
Crate-trained.
Microchipped.

If you or someone you know would like to meet Lux, we would love to arrange a meet-and-greet! We will happily share any other info or photos.
She is a very special girl.
