THANK YOU!
We are incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful people in our community who are inspired to help the animals. They bring us amazing donations of food, supplies, and funds gathered from all over and anywhere they can. Many even donate their personal time! They are amazing advocates for the animals and HSSC, so we want to give these Humane Heroes the very special shout outs they deserve!!

We wanted to send a warm thank you to HSSC volunteer P.K. Lindauer for arraigning a generous gift certificate through a matching campaign with Pet Food Express that benefits the animals at HSSC! This gift card is being used by our Animal Care department for pet food and supplies for our shelter animals! P.K. is a beloved, longtime volunteer of the Humane Society of Sonoma County, and we appreciate all of her compassion and love for the animals!
We’d like to thank our new partners Sarah Bown, Abel Gomez and Hana Pryden, who collected donations and items for our Pet Pantry to help out community pet owners during the holidays and colder weather! They delivered blankets, food, toys, and funds as well as heartwarming cheer to HSSC! These donations go a long way, providing supplies to community members and their pets in need of a little extra help. We are excited for this new partnership and look forward to seeing more of them in 2023!
Thank you to Chris Louton, winemaker for St. Francis Winery, who dropped off their wine case litter boxes!! All our cats and kittens who first arrive to HSSC, or who are under medical care receive cardboard litter trays to help keep their living spaces clean – we are always in need of these trays as donations, and Chris and his wife had the idea to cut the wine boxes down to size. They make for purrrfect litter trays! We are grateful for their innovative and generous animal loving spirit!
Thank you to our good friends at Pet Food Express for donating a huge pallet of dog and cat food towards our Pet Pantry! The boxes are filled with smaller individual sized bags of pet food, and our Community Action Team has been bringing them out into the community for pet owners in need. We are very grateful for our partnership with Pet Food Express!
Our wonderful friends from the Rodney Strong Winery volunteered at our Healdsburg location to help with our Community Action Team’s program. They helped put together 200+ bags of dog and cat food for the Pet Food Pantry. Woohoo!! They also took a moment to visit with our adoptable dog Phillip and met a couple of our fabulous felines.

Our friends at Medtronic had a volunteer team day in their offices and made enrichment toys for our shelter dogs. One of our amazing Healdsburg campers from Summer 2021 dropped off a very generous and thoughtful donation. Delilah is a lover of all animals and after attending the HSSC camp, she so thoughtfully started looking for ways to help out the animals at her local shelter. Her mom owns Mr. Moon’s, a fun-filled local store located right on the town square. Delilah realized this would be the perfect spot to start a donation box for the animal shelter. She raised $165.00 for the animals so far and plans to keep the box available at the store for future donations. It is always inspiring to see the youth of our community find ways to help our furry friends. Thank you, Delilah!
