People getting their gifts wrapped at Wrap for Paws

We cannot express enough our heartfelt gratitude to our community partners and volunteers who make Wrap for Paws a successful fundraiser for our Angels Fund! Our heartfelt thanks go to these stores, their managers and staff, and their customers! The support from the staff and customers brings us such joy and warms our hearts during the holidays, knowing that every gift we wrap gives hope to our animals.

Thank you to Copperfield’s Books Sebastopol, and Montgomery Village locations, DICK’S Sporting Goods Santa Rosa Location. Coddingtown Mall and Brookdale Senior Living for providing our volunteers time, space, gift wrap, and support! Our wrapping tips 100% benefit the shelter’s Angel’s Fund, providing lifesaving procedures for animals in our care. This year, the Wrap for Paws raised $6500!

Wrap for Paws 2023 Volunteers

This year, the wonderful Wrap for Paws volunteers donated 521.5 hours to wrap gifts for donations to our Angels Fund! This fundraiser could not succeed without their dedication, wrapping skills, holiday cheer and precious hours! We are so appreciative of these fabulous volunteers who gave up their time during the busy holiday season to represent HSSC, greeting customers and donors with smiles, working with store staff and managers, and spreading holiday cheer on behalf of the animals!

Thank you to all the amazing wrapping elves for the gift of their time, gift wrap skills, customer service and cheer, and support during the busy holiday season! We are so grateful for every minute and every bow tied!

Yvonne Michelle Morones

Every year since 2016, volunteer extraordinaire Yvonne Michelle Morones puts her Santa hat on and organizes this fundraiser that she created to provide support for our Angels Fund. Starting with approaching stores and setting schedules, she works tirelessly to recruit and coordinate volunteers to cover continuous shifts in all of the wrap locations- this year she had her wrapping elves at 5 locations through the month of December, right up to Christmas Eve! She collects gift tags, boxes, wrap and bows, and organizes bins and instructions for each store. She pours over a hundred details, striving to make each year run smoothly and be fun for the volunteers and store staff, and to exceed her fundraising totals from the previous year. She spends hours attending to all things, big and small, and covers shifts when volunteers have to cancel. She hops from one store to the other, providing coverage, restocking bins, greeting customers and new volunteers, and checking in with store staff. You’ll always find her with a glowing smile, running from one place to another, latte in hand, ensuring her fundraiser is a success!

Thank you to Yvonne for always going above and beyond for the animals, working tirelessly on behalf of the animals and HSSC! The wrapping tips 100% benefit our Angel’s Fund, providing lifesaving procedures for animals in our care. Since 2016, Yvonne’s incredible dedication and hard work on her Wrap for Paws fundraiser has raised a total of $39,335.00!

Sports Basement

We want to thank our friends at Sports Basement, Santa Rosa, and the Basementeers who chose HSSC as beneficiary! We are so grateful for this partnership, they raised $1,094 for the animals! 🙂 In 2015, Sports Basement was experiencing some major growth – new stores all over the Bay Area, and lots of new programs and ideas flying around. Sports Basement was founded on the knowledge that whatever we accomplish, it’s thanks to our community support, so we’ve always worked to give back to local schools, volunteer with local charities and basically giving back with all our hearts. But our founders knew we could do more! They wanted to put the power in the hands of the community itself, and at the same time, they wanted to find a way to help our communities save a little more, too. The Basementeer program was born.

Basementeers pay a one-time $25 fee to unlock a lifetime of savings: 10% off every purchase, every single time they shop. In addition, Basementeers choose one of 1400+ beneficiaries at signup. At the end of the fiscal year, 10% of yearly profits are allocated to the beneficiaries, with the percentages allocated according to the spend of the customers supporting them. Basementeers are literally supporting their favorite local charities and schools with every dollar they spend!
