Maōri is a Pomeranian and Pit Bull mix.

This sweet girl was living in a cage in a San Francisco apartment. I knew I didn’t have the bandwidth or situation for her, but I needed to get her out of where she was. I have tried to keep her, but it is not working. She was with her litter way longer than most pups experience. She very much loves to be connected with someone. If no other dogs, she will settle for us humans. I have an old, cranky dog who does not appreciate her need to play and cuddle.

Her Wonderful Qualities
she will sit for you at any moment to cuddle
she doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body; she wants to play with everyone
she will not stray
she does not shed
she is adorable
she will let you groom her (bath, nails, etc…) she will be still as a statue

Her Not So Wonderful Qualities
she jumps and nips when you arrive home
she will eat your food…and your chapstick
she will carry your belongings to the backyard (but she can be redirected to chew her treats and toys)

I think her extended time with her litter made her want to be connected always and also to just go for food whenever she could get it.

She is such a sweet, light-hearted, happy, energetic girl, and if she has a walk, she is a happy girl. She is very good at settling in.

She is resilient, and once she understands what she needs to do, she will do it…but it can take her a while to understand. She is food-motivated.

At first, I thought she would be good with other dogs because she wants to play and is so good with them, but I almost think she would thrive with people only. She just needs connection, exercise, and love. I think other dogs in the mix may make her more difficult.
