Jack (male) is looking for a new home. He is 8.5 years old, about 50 lbs, neutered and up to date with his vaccines (next round is due May 2025).
I got Jack as a 10 week old puppy. Unfortunately, I’ve been under- or unemployed for the last two years. As I look for a new place to live, places that accept dogs in my price range are very, very few.
Jack is very protective of me. He sees it as his duty to make sure that I’m am safe at all times. When other dogs are around he needs to be between me and the other dogs. He has never bit anyone but I’m quite sure if I were attacked by another dog, he would give his life to protect me.
I don’t know if he would become protective of you. He’s had three different dog walkers over the years and none of them reported any protective behavior.
Jack does surprisingly well with other dogs when I am not present. He’s been to doggie day care on at least 100 occasions and has been quite successful.
Jack has a loud bark, like many beagles. He drives very well in the car. He does well at the vet.
Jack has been my constant companion for eight years. Truly, I don’t want to give me up but I’m at my wit’s end. Contact: david.brayton@gmail.com or (707) 385-9000.
