I took in this handsome kitty as a hungry, scrappy stray. He’s a solid black Manx cat. If you’re not familiar with them, Manx cats have long hind legs and little to no tail. After nobody came forward to claim him, I had this boy neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (first round of shots), treated for fleas and dewormed. I also got him ear tipped, thinking that he would prefer to be released back outside as a community cat. Once he was brought indoors to recover from surgery, it became evident that he’s an extremely affectionate and easygoing guy. He likes to sit on laps, get pets, roll at your feet and knead. He’ll chirp, flop onto his side to greet you, and immediately start purring. Honestly, he’s friendlier than three of my four indoor cats. He’s litter box trained, very neat and hasn’t sprayed on anything. He desperately wants to be a house cat, but I cannot provide that for him with four cats of my own. He’s been staying in my bathroom this week and is much happier inside the house. Ideally, I would like to find him an indoor home with no dogs. I don’t know how he reacts to dogs, and the move alone will be stressful enough. I’ve purposely kept him separated from my cats but my guess is that he’d be fine with a slow introduction to other cats.
