Adoptions by Owner

We understand that life can sometimes present unexpected challenges, and having to rehome your pet can be one of them. That’s why we want to highlight our free service, Adoptions by Owner. Whenever possible, we strongly recommend exploring this option before considering a shelter. Not only is it a cost-free solution, but it also ensures a smoother transition for your furry friend by keeping them in a familiar environment during the rehoming process, reducing stress and aiding in their adjustment.

We acknowledge that it’s not always possible, but when it is, Adoptions by Owner stands as a great alternative. Your decision to find a caring new home for your pet is an act of love, and Adoptions by Owner is here to support you.

Please note that the Humane Society of Sonoma County only facilitates the web page for Adoptions by Owner and does not hold or accept responsibility for any of the pets posted on this page. Potential adopters are solely responsible for communicating with a posted pet’s guardian. HSSC’s Adoption by Owner service is reserved for pet owners finding themselves in the unfortunate situation of needing to rehome their pets. THIS PAGE IS NOT FOR BREEDERS LOOKING TO SELL ANIMALS. All rehoming submissions are reviewed to prevent misuse of the program by anyone breeding pets for profit. Any posts found to be for animals bred/sold for profit will be removed.

This free service is a component of the Humane Society of Sonoma County Rehoming Packet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating with the pet’s guardian to acquire veterinary records and other necessary information. If your pet is not spayed/neutered we encourage you to have that done prior to rehoming. If there is a financial reason you have not been able to spay/neuter your pet please call the low-cost spay/neuter clinic at (707) 284-3499 to find out how to receive a free/low cost appointment.

If you submit a post here, and if/when you rehome your pet, please let us know via email so we can retire your post: communications.shs@gmail.com

Friendly Feline Brothers Ivan & Whiskers Looking For New Happy Home

We are looking for a new happy home for our feline companions Ivan & Whiskers. We have had these now 6-year-old bonded brothers since their births and they are super sweet and lovie. They are both neutered and are INDOOR ONLY cats. They prefer a quite environment, are mellow and sleep a lot, but love to play too. Seeking a new home for them is a very hard decision to make but we need to put their happiness over ours and find them a home where people are present more often than we are. However, we are seeking the ‘Right-Fit’ home for our fur babies, so we will not just give them to anyone or separate them. If you are interested in hearing more about Ivan & Whiskers, please send an email with any questions. Contact: everyspaceofnothing@gmail.com.

2 Beautiful Orange Tabby Sisters

I have two beautiful orange female tabbies that I need to find a new home for. We did have a busy home, but sadly, my spouse passed away in May 2022 and my oldest child has left for college, so the two of us left are not around as much to give them as much love and attention that they deserve. We adopted them as kittens from the Humane Society together in the Fall of 2013 and were told that they were sisters, and even if they might not be, they slept together like Yin and Yang when they first came home. Shasta (short-haired), is the innocent, food motivated, playful one of the two and it seems that at times, thinks she’s a dog (see attached pics). We call McKinley (long-haired) our Diva because she has this long stride walk worthy of a Queen. They clean each other, play, fight, share space just like siblings. They were used to a busy home prior to our family tragedy, but now it is quiet. They are mostly indoor cats, but rush to get into our backyard any chance they can get and ALWAYS come back by scratching at our back doors. McKinley will do better with kids a little bit older so they understand not to surprise her from behind or grab her tail quickly without petting her. McKinley gives us kisses and Shasta gives everyone a hello by rubbing up on their legs when they arrive. We have had to split a small cup of food twice a day because Shasta will eat from each bowl. They have two side-by-side litter boxes which we transitioned to when they got large enough. The photos don’t do the green of McKinley’s eyes justice. We hope that you can provide another wonderful phase of life for these two. Contact: mmazzafranchetti@gmail.com or (415) 497-0322.

Sweet Chandu is Looking for a Forever Home

Chandu’s journey began on July 29, 2022, when he was born in a foster home as one of 11 puppies. We adopted Chandu at 10 weeks old, and he has been a loving member of our family ever since. Chandu is our first dog, and he has been a wonderful companion to us. Sadly, due to a family member persistently suffering from allergies over the past year, we need to find Chandu a new, loving forever home. Chandu is a very cheerful and playful dog who loves long walks, runs, and hikes in nature, playing tug of war and tag (as well as with all his other toys). He plays extremely well and gently with other dogs in the dog park which is one of his favorite places to be! Chandu loves being able to explore nature on his walks and absolutely LOVES interacting and playing with other dogs. He enjoys car rides and is very well behaved during them as well. While he can be energetic during the day, he is also pretty mellow once he has played for a while and gone on a walk. We have kept in touch with a couple of Chandu’s siblings and have enjoyed many hiking adventures together. He’s been socialized with multiple people including friends, family, and guests at home but is still a bit shy and cautious around them at times. He would benefit from additional, advanced training to help him improve on this. Please consider giving Chandu a new home where he can thrive and be loved, and where he will be a loyal and loving companion to you. Contact: medha17b@gmail.com or (707) 757-3387.

Gingy the fluffy rare ginger maine coon

This rare beautiful long haired female ginger maine coon is waiting for the right family to snuggle up with. Gingy, aka Gigi, is very calm and quiet, yet also very affectionate, especially to the head pet parent. She loves being a lap kitty and being pet, and cuddling in bed if you let her. Loves to go on the patio outside and look at the birds. Good w/ small dogs and animals who are calm and used to being around cats. Unfortunately my grandmother recently passed away, and as I already have 3 senior pets to care for at home I am unable to take in another pet. Since her passing, Gingy has become a bit more reserved, but still very calm and gentle. All she will need is a little time to warm up, and soon she’ll be ready for extra cuddles. She is about 8 y.o. in tip top health, and adoptee will be provided w/ beds, crate, and other supplies. I just want to make sure she finds a good loving home. To inquire for adoption please see adoption page: https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/40983020-san-francisco-california-cat. Contact: princessparkllz@gmail.com.

Sweet Social Hope, Belgian Shepherd mix

Seeking a better home for Hope, a sweet Belgian Tervuren mix (guessing). She is an extremely social dog. Good with people of all ages – toddlers to senior citizens. She would make a great pet-assisted therapy dog. Loves getting pets & hugs, even when they’re a little rough. Ok with cats – mostly ignores them. Choosey about her dog friends: She’ll play with older gentle and smaller dogs, but is defensive with dogs her size that are too young and exuberant for her. She’s around 9 to 11-years old. 60 lbs. Spayed. Up to date on shots last September. I took Hope in about 2 years ago. A woman “bought a home and the dog came with it”. ( The previous owner had abandoned her.) We met at a bus stop and she gave me the dog! Hope doesn’t like being alone so she goes everywhere I go as a de facto service dog. Rides great on busses. (Naps under the seat.) Loves car rides. I’ve been unemployed due to poor health and able to be with her 24/7. Now that I’m healthy enough to work I’d love to find her a home with someone who is home more often than not.  Contact: brother.sage@outlook.com.

Milo Will be your Best Pal 🙂

Milo was born to our daughter’s family rescue cat last April. (He’s about 10 months old). His owner, a single mom and her 4 kids, were forced to move from their house recently, and could not take their beloved cats. We are temporarily fostering them while they find a forever home. Milo could also thrive well if adopted with one of his siblings, also listed here (Pudge Chickabea and Lucky). Milo is a very devoted, sweet, loving, and playful cat who will warm up to people quickly. He loves to cuddle up and sleep with people or his own bed. Milo would make a wonderful pet for any home. He has lived with kids and a dog as an indoor/outdoor kitten in a suburban environment, and is currently living fully indoor. He could adapt to feeling at home either way. He has been neutered.  Contact: jclark53@me.com or (707) 280-0222.

Lucky needs a new home

Lucky’s mother was our family (rescue) cat, and she is one of her litter of seven kittens. Born in mid-April 2023. We want for her to get much love and affection in her new home. Lucky’s original owner, a single mom with 4 kids, were forced to move, and could not take their beloved cats. We are temporarily fostering them while they find a forever home. Lucky is very sweet, loving, playful, and cuddly, and will warm up to people gradually, though she may be timid for the first few days at her new home. She loves to sleep in our bed at home. She would thrive well if adopted with one of her brothers, also listed here (Milo, and Pudge Chickabea). Lucky would make a wonderful pet for any home. She has lived indoor/outdoor in a suburban area, but is currently fully indoor, and could adapt either way in a new environment.  She has been spayed.  Contact: jclark53@me.com or (707) 280-0222.

Tabby cat – Domino – needs new home

Domino is a 7 1/2 year old neutered tabby who is an indoor/outdoor cat who roams the neighborhood. A neighbor recently left an anonymous note on his collar stating the cat is using their garden beds as a litter box and asked that we keep him in our yard, which is impossible. He loves to be outside so now worried about his safety. His mama was a feral cat who died giving birth, and Domino still has a feral side to him, but does like to spend time laying in a lap or on a bed. Unfortunately Domino has always scratched our child so much that our child doesn’t want him around anymore. And he scratches our furniture too, even though we have all sorts of scratching posts around. He can be loving and likes to cozy up in your lap sometimes, but only on his terms (basically like most cats). He gets along fine with our dog, but doesn’t hesitate to put the dog (who is twice his size) in his place when needed with a swat to the nose. He spends a lot of time outdoors, especially when the weather is warm, and will stay outside all night, coming in for food and a pat on the head. Wouldn’t advise placing him in a home with kids. He doesn’t bite but does scratch a lot. Not sure how he acts with other cats as he’s the only cat in our house. Contact: deniselovesgolf@gmail.com or (707) 478-9947.

Playful Snuggly Lab/Pit Mix

This baby needs a loving home with lots of cuddles. Atlas is 1 year 4 months old. We’ve had him for a year. He was severely abused as a newborn and as such would do best in a home where he is the only dog. He has no experience with cats, so I can’t speak to that. He is the sweetest, snuggliest, goodest boy. We adopted 2 dogs together and as they grew there was animosity between them. We have worked towards tolerance but ultimately they both would be happier in a home where they each are the only dog. He will let you pick him up and carry him like a baby. Atlas knows “sit”, “stay”, “wait” (for when doors are open and you don’t want him going through it), “come”, and “crate”. He will do almost anything for a treat and knows the words “treat” and “cookie”. Admittedly, he will expect a treat for performance but we use a single piece of kibble for his treats. He is crate trained for during the day while we are out of the house but prefers to sleep with our kids at night. He is a chewer and no cardboard box is safe near him. He loves nylon chews and rope toys. He is a very smart dog and can open lever doorhandles. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. I can put you in touch with his current veterinarian to get all records. He has a current registration with Sonoma County theat will come due in April. His crate will go with him. We would love for you to come and meet him a few times before adopting him. We are happy to take him back if you cannot keep him for any reason. $100 rehoming fee. Killua (Kee-loo-ah), 4 mon. In Need of New Home

It breaks our hearts to pieces for my fiancé and I to give up this cute lil stinker, a 4 month old Labrador-Poodle mix, but we no longer have the means or time to provide a happy, healthy life for him. We suggest that whoever becomes his new companion has experience with stubborn, high energy pups. We both grew up around pups/dogs with my fiancé’s mom even being a vet/foster parent, but this guy is a whole different ball game. We’ve tried everything we could think of to train him and correct certain behaviors, but we just don’t have enough experience with pups like him. After all of the efforts, my fiancé recently lost his job, so we’ve both been busy working whenever we can to make ends meet. We simply don’t have enough time for the level of care he needs. We took him in from a friend that claimed he was up to date on his vaccines, but they never followed through with the paper work, so we’ve only had a few vaccines done after realizing that was the best course of action. We will provide the paperwork for those. Since we weren’t sure of what vaccines he’s had, we’ve only had him regularly around about 8 other dogs within our families, so he definitely could use as much socialization as possible ASAP. If needed/wanted, we can also provide his kennel, bed, bowls, hygienic products and brushes, and the toys he has yet to demolish (Lol). Despite all of that, he almost never damages anything besides his toys, but he does love to mouth on hands, sleeves, and blankets. With the right owner, this little guy could be a great companion. We’ll miss his routine morning cuddles and playtime, his funny way of cocking his head back and forth, and seeing how much he loves meeting new people.  Contact: lboutte@bearcubs.santarosa.edu or (602) 320-4659.

Amazing family dog needs new home

Yofi is a 5.5 year old American Pitbull Terrier sweetheart who has lived with us since she was 4 months old when we bought her from a breeder. She is 60 lbs and a kind nanny dog to our 6 month old. She is also an amazing guard dog and good with our chickens who she has saved from many predators; including one chick that was already in a coyote’s mouth.  She is spayed and has had regular vet visits. She has had acres to run around our apple orchard and even got along with our cat. She loves children, is super friendly to people, and is a blanket-hogging lickalotupus who loves to snuggle up on our couch with us on rainy days. Yofi would do well in a home that can provide her with the structure and boundaries she craves. She is athletic and is an enthusiastic hiker; although needs to be leashed because she can be protective when around other dogs. We believe she will do better in a home without dogs because she has become more protective since the birth of our baby girl. And may even get along with cats once she gets to know them.   Our sincere wish is to find her a home that is a better fit for her; where her new family can love her and cherish the fur baby that she is. There is a $50 rehoming fee that includes her current flea and anti-heartworm medication.   We wish we could keep her but the landlord asked us to rehome her because she does not get along with our neighbors dogs. Please call or text for more info Joti 510-847-6543.

Sweet Energetic Puppy

Zana is a beautiful Dalmatian/Aussie Cattle Mix. She just turned 1 Dec 2023. We took her in last Sept to help a family that could no longer keep her. She was kept mainly outdoors with very little training so we had our work cut out for us. We then figured out that part of the issue is that she is very hard of hearing. We have indoor trained her and crate trained her and use some sign language. She is potty trained but does have a fear of being locked outdoors again, she loves being indoors with the exception of her daily walks. We sadly can no longer keep her because our oldest dog and Zana are both pack leaders and do not get along. It makes life difficult to rotate dogs all day long. Being a pack leader dog she would need to be in a home where she is the dog boss. Our home is filled with 3 dogs and children aged 6 months – 14 yrs and she loves it so she would do best in a home with other submissive dogs and/or children. She is very active and silly. She chases her shadow, tail, and anything that catches her eye. She will sit on you and watch TV, dance with you, and give lots of kisses. Since she can’t hear she will sleep through most sounds but her other senses are very strong. She is very protective of her pack and worth noting she can jump very high.  Contact: Rachelplato74@gmail.com or (510) 409-8315.

Louisiana grown, Fred is as sweet and gentle as a Southern breeze

Our family adopted him from a rescue in New Orleans just about 3 years ago. He had spent most of his life in shelters and foster homes, and we immediately fell in love with his loving disposition. My family and I have had to make the extremely hard decision to rehome him, but we feel it is best for our Fred. We’ve been hit pretty hard since moving back to California. We no longer have the financial resources to care for him, nor can we give him the time and attention he needs to thrive in life. He is a 5 year old (7/7/18) Plott Hound/Boxer Mix, and weighs a little over 60 lbs. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm & flea medication. He is potty trained, crate trained (prefers to be in his crate as a safe space), knows the commands “sit” & “down”, walks pretty well on a leash and is very food motivated with training (very smart, responsive and picks things up easily). He has been amazing with our daughter (we have a 9 year old), though he prefers a more relaxed environment as he gets nervous with crazy kid antics and loudness. We have a cat as well that he gets along fine with; he tends to be friendlier towards the cat than the cat is to him. He does get nervous, excited and can be a little vocal when meeting another dog but tends to mellow after proper introductions have been made, and falls inline with the pack pretty readily. He has lived with other dogs for most of his life so we feel adding him to a dog family would be good for him (currently the only dog in house). His general temperament is very sweet and easy going, preferring to laze in the sun on the deck, though he does enjoy the occasional crazy run around the yard when he’s happy, and of course loves walkies in the forest. He does get nervous easily and can be reserved when meeting new people or animals and in new places; we believe this is from possible previous abuse/neglect, living most of his life in foster/shelter care, and maybe not getting important life experiences/socialization when he was younger. He doesn’t react all that much to loud environmental noises such as fireworks, thunder, etc. and even slept through a very large hurricane passing directly over our house. We feel he would do well in a more relaxed and calming home environment, maybe older kids, with lots of gentle love, car rides, a big yard to run and explore in, and walkies out in nature. Please contact me at rotorwifee5@gmail.com for more information or for questions. We would like to physically see where he will be, as well as meet any other pets that are in the household and make proper introductions with them. We will also supply all his things (bowls, food, crate, etc.) and are not looking for any sort of monetary compensation for rehoming. Thank you!

Sweet but shy doggo looking for a better fit

We are looking for a better fit for our mid sized 30lb Shepard/husky+ mix. He is sweet and goofy when comfortable but very very shy of people. He’s scared of men and while he usually warms up to most men, after 3 years he’s still terrified of my husband and deserves a home he is always comfy in. He is currently in a busy home with a kid and two small dogs whom he loves. He is fully house trained, crate trained for when we’re away (cause he likes to chew things when left alone), and sleeps on his dog bed at night with the occasional sneaking into the bed. He loves to nap, snuggle, play with his toys, fetch, and take adventures/long walks. He’s been reactive on the leash for me but with everyone else including my son he hides behind them, scared when people approach him. He is neutered and microchipped as well. He gets car sick for long, windy car rides but still loves to go for rides. Contact: let_me_go13@hotmail.com or (707) 217-8622.

Tazi looking for a good life

Tazi is a sweet girl who has had a troubled life. My grandpa adopted her from the shelter 5 years ago and she showed signs of previous abuse. Since then she has not been receiving food attention, she is left a outside all day with another dog and inside in a cage at night. My grandpa is unable to properly care for her and have her at home anymore. She listens well but is also energetic. She needs attention and care. Someone who will love her and treat her as a companion. She is a chihuahua mix and approximately 8 years old. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Contact: duniakg9@gmail.com or (707) 787-1230.

Beautiful girl in need of loving, energetic parents

I am so sad to say that I can no longer provide the life that my beautiful, almost 4 years old pup needs and deserves. I rescued her from the Eel River in Redway, CA, hence her name ‘Redway’ (goes by Red or Big Red). She was between 8-12 weeks at the time. She has had constant care and is very healthy and up to date on all shots etc. Shes tips the scales between 80-90lbs, is loving, playful and very energetic! She is very friendly with dogs and attend doggie daycare regularly. She loves children and people in general. She does have separation anxiety and prefers to be with you and not alone. She is completely house trained and although crate trained, does sleep on the bed when allowed. I have moved to a slightly smaller home with no real yard, and she is too big and strong for me to be able to walk her as much as she needs. She is very well recovered from a very successful ACL surgery with all vet bills, medications etc. taken care of. She would thrive with a young energetic couple that could provide her the exercise she needs. It breaks my heart to lose her, but I know she deserves better. Contact: tracyparis@att.net.

Apollo, a good boy rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico

Meet Apollo, a resilient and sweet rescue dog with a heart as big as his journey. Found on the streets of Puerto Rico, Apollo has not only overcome adversity but has blossomed into a well-trained and affectionate companion. With a temperament that matches his charming personality, Apollo is a quick learner and an all-around good boy. He is already well trained. He can sit, stay, down, heel, and is a great loose leash walker. His temperament and training is so good he was able to fly from Puerto Rico to San Francisco inside the cabin with no issues. I am always getting compliments about how well trained he is. I wish I could keep him for myself! He is non-reactive and does not bark unless there is a good reason. Adopt this wonderful canine companion and make a lasting connection with a dog who has triumphed against the odds. He is getting neutered January 3rd and will be ready for a forever home after that! He comes with all necessary equipment, toys, leashes, crates etc.  Contact: sgtjordanjames@gmail.com or (707) 972-3409.

Boy rats in need of good home

I have 3 five week old babies and one 5ish month old boy. I get my pet rats as feeders, and I accidentally got a boy and girl instead of two boys. They had a litter of babies, so i’m looking to find all the boys homes. They go out in pairs (or all four), since rats need a buddy to socialize with. The dad is Eddie, and the babies are Fig, Lemon, and Kiwi. The babies are all very social, but the dad is a bit shy since I had to separate him from the rest of the ratties a for awhile. It’s hard to get a clear photo with all them in it, so I can provide better pictures of them individually if you text me! (707)478-8835

Beloved family dogs need a better quality of life

This is hard, harder than I expected. I have two dogs, male and female. Both adults, both extra large breed. I am unable to care for them like they deserve any longer I am hoping someone is looking for a couple of loving giants to add joy to their family. Only people with a large yard or better will be considered. Male: Scratch. 165lbs. Dirty fawn with black face and ears. Pure breed Spanish Mastiff no papers. Dob: 6/3/2017. No known health issues no major personality defects. He is a big lover, very affectionate sometimes a bit insecure and socially awkward…he likes cats if he knows they belong to his family. He likes kids and all people. Love to tug of war and bark at the fence to get pets from passerby.does not seem to like small dogs. I’ve never tested the theory due to his size and lack of solid training in obedience on lead. Does well in open spaces off lead returning to me when called and generally behaving. He is house trained a big spoiled baby. Will steal food from trash if opportunity arises and can be aggressive over his stolen spoils…not sure why but we try to avoid the situation. He is not very aggressive over his food dish and even let’s the cats have a taste occasionally…he does try to steal our other dogs food if allowed the chance too. Not because he’s hungry just to be a brat I think. Over all he is a really good dog. He needs more room to exercise and something to do besides lay around he is bored and gets in trouble when he’s bored. Female: Zoey. Was 100lbs (not sure now). White and brindle patches. Mastiff x American Bulldog. Dob:2/14/2015. Zoey has recently become not very well she has lost weight and her coat is terrible. She needs care that I can’t provide her. I am afraid it may be cancer. She is such a good dog and a wonderful protector. She was so beautiful and energetic still even though I can see she is uncomfortable she still loves to patrol the yard and wrestle around with scratch. She does not have a grain of quit in her. She loves to be pampered and play rough and rowdy. She accepts cats and some other dogs. She is deceptively strong for her size holding her own against the big guy( she has always acted as alpha between them). She gets cold easily and has to have insulated area to sleep preferably close to humans! Although her and scratch do snuggle most nights. She is very hyper on a lead and will pull hard enough to choke herself repeatedly until taken off. She has a lot of energy still even being sick. She is house trained. She does not allow anyone to trim her nails which have suddenly gotten a bit long for the first time since she was a baby. She loves to go for a ride in the car and bark. She loves the beach. The too are so attached I could not bear to separate them. It will be very hard for him when she is no longer around, he will need someone who can be there and guide him. I realize I am asking for a miracle. I had to ask though. Please let me know if you have any questions about them I will be happy to answer. I just want them to be happy and well cared for. I realize the ways I am failing them and don’t want to continue down that path. Thank you for reading. Contact: kristalfisher1@zoho.com or (707) 373-9860.

Hank- loving dog but needs more behavior training

Hank is a 3 year old 100 pound pure Bred black lab. At home he can be lazy, and loving and goofy- or he can have lots of energy and needs you to throw the ball for awhile. The problem we have with Hank is that we live in an area where people are constantly walking by with dogs and Hank is very protective of our house and us. He needs to be in a more quiet house with a tall fence. He can be aggressive with other dogs on off leash but he can also be totally fine and play well-unpredictable. He goes out with a dog walker 5 days a week and gets plenty of exercise but its become a challenge for us to handle him especially with 2 kids and another lab at home. we think he might need a home where he is the only dog- he gets along fine with our other dog but he is definitely the alpha. He loves to swim and chase balls. He needs an experienced dog owner and someone who is patient and has time to work with him. We have gotten him extensive training but he needs more attention. Bonded Pair in need of rehoming due to medical restrictive relocation

Calliope and Cleo are a bonded pair. They were adopted from the Las Vegas ASPCA in 2017. Calliope is a short hair tuxedo cat. She is blind in one eye and has mild asthma, but nothing that requires any kind of special care. They are good girls. I would take them with me when I move, but I am moving with a medically fragile family member to take care of her at the end of her life and she can not have pets due to the dander and hair. They would come with everything, including their cat tree, carrier, water dishes and litter boxes and any extra food or litter that I have at the time they are adopted. I just want them to go to a really good home and be able to stay together. I do love them, but circumstances are requiring this move and I just want to make sure they are loved. Meet Monty! 2 year old English Bulldog – Energetic and playful

Monty joined our family as a puppy in 2022. He was born November 12, 2021 and we believe him to be fully English Bulldog (though we don’t have any official paperwork or any genetic testing to verify). Unfortunately, as our daughter has grown from a baby to a toddler to a kid, he’s shown that he doesn’t love being around kids and we want our house to be a safe place for her and her friends. Monty is very reactive to other dogs and animals as well, so he would do best in a home where he is the center of attention. He would love to have a yard or space to play because he is a very energetic bulldog. Don’t get him wrong, he loves to sleep and cuddle as well, but anytime he sees a tennis ball (any ball actually), rope or toy, he is quick to pick it up and ask to play. He loves playing fetch and tug-o-war. We are heartbroken to have our boy rehomed, but we think it’s best for him and our daughter – Looking for very loving owners! Note: Cherry eye on right eye may need surgery. He is house trained, neutered, and microchipped. Contact: seajohnson3@gmail.com or (925) 997-2346.

Adorable Amstaff in Need of Loving Home

Tango is an adorable American Staffordshire Terrier who is 1.5 years old and about 56lbs. He’ll find the heating vents in the house and lay by them. He loves to be warm and cozy and snuggle. Tango enjoys a good game of tug and fetch, his favorite play activities. With tug, he’s learned how to pause mid-activity and allow swapping out toys. Tango can be timid in new environments but will gladly share kisses once he’s comfortable with you. He walks well on leash and is fine meeting dogs out and about. He’s even a good cafe dog. Tango loves a good, long walk. He’s potty trained and has completed three courses of obedience classes at the Marin humane society. We have another dog, and Tango is working on his resource guarding. We are also hoping to start a family, and we believe Tango would thrive in a home with no small children and where he is the only pet. Contact: mvillatuya5@gmail.com or (630) 408-6876.

Loving Goofball Needs Forever Home

Tarka is a loving goofball. He’s great with people, including little kids (he’s very patient with my not-that-gentle two year old). He loves to cuddle and wrestle and does well with most other dogs (small and large). He’s easy going, but loves to play and run. He’s my mother’s dog, but unfortunately she’s unable to handle him. She’s currently in the hospital with a broken hip resulting from a fall while walking him. She’s very sadly made the decision to look for a better home for him and asked me to help her do so. Since she adopted Tarka she has provided him with a very loving home and lots of training. She’ll be sad to say goodbye to him, but knows that it’s for the best. Tarka would do well with a home that can provide him space and exercise. He’s used to going to the dog park, walks and doggy daycare Breed: Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees Age: 2-3 years Weight: 100lbs Neutered, up to date on vaccinations Contact: mwgiscombe@gmail.com.

Loki needs a forever home

Loki is a very smart, very handsome boy. When he was first surrendered to us in January, he was very fearful of everything — if he tried to walk more than a few yards on a walk, he would get so scared he would completely freeze and not want to move. With lots of attention, love, and work, he has evolved into a different dog. He loves to go on hikes and chase balls, and he’s learned to sit, lie down, spin and more — as long as there are treats being offered! He learns new skills quickly, but is also very smart and sometimes thinks hard about whether a skill is worth doing for the treat. When he feels secure, he loves to meet new people and dogs, but is still learning to respect other dogs’ boundaries. When visitors come to the house, he’s very excited to make friends with them! But he knows not to jump (usually). We think he would do well in a house with another, slightly older dog who has more confidence and can show him the ropes. He is also still a bit anxious and alert, so a more relaxed house might be a good fit — though he gets along well with kids!  Contact: bradenpells@gmail.com or (510) 919-2221.

Four kittens looking for homes

It’s been 5 months since we rescued kittens. They were found in an alley and after monitoring them to see if their momma was around; we found out they were on their own so we took them in. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep them. We already have a cat (tortie named Sen) who doesn’t get along with other animals or people, and it is extremely hard for her to bond with other cats. Due to our living situation, it is getting harder to provide for them. We are trying to reach out to organizations, but have not had any luck. These furry babies are wonderful, and energetic. Although we love them, and have enjoyed watching them grow; they deserve a loving home. A home where they can be free, and get the attention they need. Contact: arevirj83@gmail.com or (707) 623-0263.

Handsome lap kitty looking for home!

This very handsome, sweet kitty is looking for a home! Unfortunately he does not get along with my other cat. His play style is a bit too rough for him. He is a failed barn cat, so I took him home with me. Violet (we were told he was a female as a kitten and the name stuck…) is super snuggly, floppy, squishy and sweet. He gets along great with dogs and I’m sure he’d be fine with another cat as well (just not my sensitive boy). HE IS AVAILABLE AS AN INDOOR ONLY CAT! I will not let him go to a home who wants an indoor/outdoor cat. He is not the brightest and I would hate for him to get hit by a car. He also has lighter pigment on his face, so it wouldn’t be a good idea for him to go outdoors anyway. He is a medium haired cat, neutered, uses a litter box and up to date on all vaccines. I don’t have an exact date of birth for him, but he is about 10-11 months old. Let me know if you have any questions!  Contact: mgilardi831@gmail.com.

Handsome Doggo looking for love

Are you ready to meet the most handsome Doggo you’ve ever laid eyes on!? Well he’s here! And he looking for love!…..& a forever home! Fidget’s the name, but I’m also called Fidgee Foo Foo! I’m approximately 3 years old. Altered Male. 55 lbs. I’m a real friendly cuddlebug, and could spend hours just holding your hand (litterally, he loves to hold hands!). I’m a zoomie master. And a real catch. I was pulled from a high killed shelter that was extremely overcrowded. And yes, I have a cleft lip! It’s one of my dashing features and goes perfectly with my croaked tail. Foster mama says I’m one of a kind. Incredibly loving, enthusiastic, with unique personality. Very goofy & keeps you laughing all the time. He’s so easy to fall in love with! Fidget gets along with other dogs, But cannot live in a home that has cats. There will be a rehoming fee which will be donated to the shelter he came from. If you’re interested in finding out more information about this gorgeous guy, please text me at 707-591-6850.

Gorgeous Siberian can’t handle sisters scent

Toby is a beautiful Siberian that my mother in law got from a breeder with papers. He has a great personality but developed a habit of marking inside the home as he grew up around his sister who is full time indoors. Our vet said that this may be solely because her scent is dominant in the house. We are looking for a good home for Toby as his owner will be going to assisted living shortly. Toby has spent a fair bit of time outside of late, because of his recent habit, and we would like to find him a home that he is comfortable in. He is super soft and a gorgeous boy.  Contact: nell@nellhergenrather.com or (707) 338-1851.

Very Special Bull Terrier

Are you dreaming of the most loyal, snuggly and smart dog to complete your family and home? Sugar wants and needs a calm and engaging family or individual and specifically someone who appreciates her smart, attentive nature and willingness to learn; someone committed & who enjoys working with bullies and wants the experience of supporting and nurturing her confidence and skills. She’s super trainable and eager to please. Sugar will do best in a home without cats; though she’s not shown a prey drive for any critters or cats, she is curious. But she listens well when told to “leave it.” And she’s dog-specific and does best with male dogs, though does have 2 female bff’s. She’s happily crate trained. It’s her safe & cozy place where she spends lots of her time. She’s super loyal, snuggly, really smart and a homebody. She’s happiest when she’s with her primary person. She loves and needs her daily walks but is not a high-energy dog – she’s mellow. The beach is her happiest place (but she does not like water) and she’s very easy to walk on leash. She’s 4.5yrs old She’s 48-50lbs depending on the day! She’s a major snuggler and lap dog and will sleep as long as you do. She won’t wake you up. She rarely barks. She’s a great guard dog; wants to know who’s coming into the house. She’ll never take off/run off even if front door or gate is open. She bonds deeply ❣️ She needs a home where she won’t be left alone for too many hours at a time❣️🐶 Please, only those people specifically interested in a bully-breed and their smart, tenacious personalities need apply. Sweet, complex Basenji/Heeler mix

Dear friends, fellow animal lovers, and kind-hearted community members, Our hearts are heavy as we navigate a difficult chapter with our cherished 4.5-year-old family dog, a delightful Basenji/Heeler mix. While he brings immense love and joy within our family, his unpredictable aggression towards strangers, including instances of biting, leaves us with no choice but to seek a new home for him. As a single mother with two sons, I am unable to afford his care, and our living situation prohibits us from keeping him. Shelters, unfortunately, cannot provide a solution, and the prospect of behavioral euthanasia is something we vehemently oppose. We reach out to you, our extended community, in the hope that someone with the compassion and resources can offer him the new home and behavioral modification he so desperately needs. He’s more than a dog; he’s a cherished member of our family, deserving of a chance at a happy and fulfilling life. If you or someone you know possesses the means and expertise to help, please reach out. Together, let’s provide him with a second chance and prevent an unthinkable tragedy. Your support in sharing this plea is our lifeline. Let’s unite and find a loving home where he can thrive. Your help is invaluable. 🙏🏼🐶❤️ **#SaveOurDog #SecondChance #HelpNeeded #NewForeverHome** Contact: jpkimstudies@gmail.com or (408) 782-4637.

Husky/Bulldog 1 year pup needs new home

A good dog named Freya needs a fresh start and a new home. Freya is a 1 year old spayed, vaccinated Husky/Bulldog mix. She is a fun, energetic, sweet, and playful dog who loves to run and play with other dogs. Freya loves people and wants to say high to everyone! She’d be thrilled to attend a reward based training class with her new family and impress them with her big beautiful brain and athleticism. This youngster will happily work for treats! Freya is an expert at the game of catch (the fetch part could use a little practice). she might not be an ideal match for small kiddos who might get tackled on accident. Freya has no cat experience. It’s important that she find a home where she will get exercise and attention so she doesn’t resort to destruction out of boredom. She’s at a great age for attending classes with an active, fun human or two!  Contact: Kyleoblad@gmail.com or (707) 490-4774.
