This is Arlo. We found him abandoned in a San Francisco park and adopted him from SF Animal Care and Control to save his life after no one came to claim him. He’s ~7 months old, neutered, fully vaccinated, and a lovable mutt — we think he’s part pit bull, part basset hound, probably part many other things. He’s about 35 pounds, with short legs, and a long-ish stocky body. I suspect he’ll fill out a bit but I don’t think he’s going to get any taller and would classify him as a medium-sized dog. He is one of the cuddliest dogs I’ve ever known, and he really likes snuggling with his people.

Arlo is a super sweet guy. That said, my family is not, and really has never been, in a position to keep him long term, so we are trying to find him a new, loving, forever home. We already have another dog and a toddler and we live in a small house in SF with minimal outdoor space, so our lives have turned into complete chaos now that there’s a puppy around, too. We’ve tried making it work, but I think for the sake of our sanity, we need to do what we can to find him a new, loving home.

Arlo is very good with other dogs and pretty good with our toddler (although the puppy play biting can be a little much for our son). He’s been in our home now for about 6 weeks, so he’s housebroken, sleeps through the night, and is well adjusted.

Let us know if you’re interested in meeting him!

Best,
Nick and Caitlyn
